What a tough decision, which version I should put on Twerk & Twang. A decision that went one way and the other, depending on my mood. Now they are both out and you can decide for yourself.

This compilation from 2006 celebrates 15 years of Hausmusik records. I am very proud to be part of this great line up of artists. A Million Mercies took good care of my song 'One Way Trip' and I had the honour to finish some basic tracks Jersey had recorded and added some twang to it.

This is how it all started. The first record that Hausmusik released and my very first recording ever. The LP was strictly limited to 1000 copies and came in a handmade sleeve. This compilation has been sold out for years.
'Rain In Asshole City' was written in a cold rainy night in a town a little bit up north from here. I wasn't very happy at that time.
Lay Your Guns Down
Klaus Patzak
Sun is setting on our love Strong wind blowing from the west Chasing clouds across the sky Putting our love to the test Sadness comes easy when Our two worlds collide I am weary of the strife A falling feeling deep inside Lay your guns down We’re caught up in friendly fire Together we were born to fly Higher and higher We never went beyond The point of no return We never put our love on the line We still let the fire burn It’s a big old crazy world The things we do, the things we say Carelessly we deny our hearts Let our love go astray Lay your guns down We’re caught up in friendly fire Together we were born to fly Higher and higher |
One Way Trip
Klaus Patzak
There was a time when we were strongWe believed, kept keeping on We built this boat, we set sail
Had our hopes up high, thought we could never fail The sea got rough we floated on and on
We caught the waves singing our desperate songs Now the wild wind blows men overboard
We’re on our own no way to reach the shore Watch out we’re drowning
Yeah we’re going down It’s too late now to leave this sinking ship
This turned out to be a one way trip There we go rtraight to hell
We’re history, remembered well Watch out we’re drowning
Yeah we’re going down Watch out we’re drowning
Yeah we’re going down
No Honky Tonks Around Here
Marion Gerth, Andreas Haberl, Max Punktezahl, Noel Rademacher, Flow Zimmer, Klaus Patzak
Where is my bar? Wish I could sit down and get myself a drink and get with it Where is it? There are no honky tonks around here Where is it? I lost it Where is it? Where is it? Where is it? |
Something To Live For
Klaus Patzak
Sometimes it hurtsWhen dreams come true
Nowhere to go
Nothing to do
Crazy cravings
The things I've been longing for
I had a few
They don't move me no more Give me something to live for
Something to die for
Something to dream of
Give me some kind of reason Moon on the rise
On the desert tonight
Take away my sorrow
Be my guiding light
Love is just a gamble
Such an unpredictable thing
Sometimes you lose
And some other times you win Give me something to live for
Something to die for
Something to dream of
Give me some kind of reason
End Of The Road
Klaus Patzak
Riding down that Southern breeze Blown away, gone with the wind No looking back on what's left behind What there is and might have been Adios, time to say good bye Gotta keep on moving on I'm gonna see you at the end of the road Someday before to long |
Trouble
Klaus Patzak
Don’t tell me your storyI can’t believe a word
I’ve never seen you
Down there in the dirt
Don’t tell me your trouble
Don’t waste away my time
Got trouble of my own
Got a whole lot on my mind chorus
Me, I gotta go now
Gotta go down my way
There is always summer
Always summer they say Through the eyes of child
Through the eyes of alcohol
I looked at things in many ways
Hope I haven’t seen them all
Don’t tell me your story
I’ve heard all before
Don’t tell me your trouble
I can’t hear it no more chorus
Me, I gotta go now
Gotta go down my way
There is always summer
Always summer they say
Rain In Asshole City
Klaus Patzak
Man let me tell youBeeing two in one gets harder every day
Explosion or corrosion
I don't know which way to go
And by the time I look out the window
It's raining in asshole city Rain in asshole city
Rain in asshole city
Rain in asshole city So I went out and hit the road
Think I had enough of all
Raindrops on my windshield
The heater didn't work
I was listening to the radio
There was nothing on
Guess I tried to get real far away
Cause I knew, yeah I knew
It was raining in asshole city Rain in asshole city
Rain in asshole city
Rain in asshole city Thinking of Ian and Silvia
You can meet me where the snow flies
Wow, wouldn't that be great boy
And now I am driving this damn old car
No I guess it won't take me too far
And there is always this
Haunting thought in my head Rain in asshole city
Rain in asshole city
Rain in asshole city
